Four things, done properly
This is a small product on purpose. It does not do your books, it does not file your return, and it will not pretend to know what your refund is going to be.

A photograph on WhatsApp, a PDF from a supplier, a bank statement, or a whole folder at once in the browser. Same reader, whichever door it comes through.
Read
Merchant, amount, VAT, date and category, off the paper. Anything it could not read is marked as not read, rather than guessed at and presented as a fact.
Recon
Every slip beside the bank line that paid for it, and a plain sentence about anything the two disagree about. This is the check before you hand anything to an accountant.
Export
A spreadsheet, a PDF summary, or a ZIP of every original image named by date and merchant. It is your paperwork. Take it whenever you like.

It knows where you are
Most receipt readers were built for one country and had a second bolted on. The date on a slip, the name of the tax line and which year it belongs to are all different answers in different places, and getting one of them wrong produces a figure that looks completely normal.

Every figure in R, grouped and punctuated the way South Africa does it. A total you cannot reconcile against your own bank statement is worse than no total.
The tax line, by its real name
South African VAT is 15 percent and is included in the price on the slip. Where a slip does not print it, we work it out and say on the row that we did.
The right tax year
South Africa runs 1 March to the end of February. A slip dated either side of that boundary goes into the year it actually belongs to, which is not always the year you sent it in.
What it will not do
Worth saying out loud, because most of the things it does not do are things other products in this space happily claim.
It will not guess your refund
A number produced from what you remembered to type is not a refund, it is an estimate of a guess. We show you what your records actually say instead.
It will not score its own confidence
No percentages. A field is either something the reader returned, or something it came back blank on and has told you about. A made-up confidence figure stops people checking exactly the fields it is wrong about.
It will not hold your paperwork
Every original image comes back out as a named ZIP whenever you ask, on every plan including the free one.
